Flashfx web design began as a one man company in a one bedroom apartment in trendy St Kilda in January 2000. The owner and company director, Andy Bolle, had a purpose to provide a new style of cutting edge web design service. This purpose was born out of a passion for all things online and out of sheer frustration whilst surfing through an online world flooded with hard to use sites stuffed with excessive content and unpredictable menus.
A clear vision of the potential harmony between usability and beautiful design was established which has held strong for over a decade.
The first projects were strongly focused on Flash animation, hence the company name Flashfx Multimedia & Design. Andy soon realised that the Internet was to evolve from its infancy into the most powerful tool of modern times. Through this realisation his focus turned to creating online experiences that gave the user priority; from this grew the company’s tag line ‘The User Experience’.
Over several years of collaboration with Clemenger BBDO as their technical arm; Flashfx built a solid client base. With a diverse range of business styles and media projects to work on, the company grew in terms of practical experience as well as size. The first Content Management Systems (CMS) were built; applications which paved the way for the current state of the art CMS, Enterprisefx.
The company moved to a prestigious St Kilda Road address in 2004 and solidified as an independent web design company with a full time programmer and a team of contract designers, flash programmers and html coders. During this time, Flashfx further refined their programming art and established several independent long term business relationships which continue to flourish. The dedication to excellent service grew as did the commitment to following a solid work process backed up by thorough documentation.
In 2007, Andy relocated the business to the Yarra Valley to support his personal goal of combining a professional web development business with his preferred lifestyle choice. Now the company is busier and more productive than ever. With a permanent team of four, combining over 50 years of technical and online experience between them, Flashfx continues to go from strength to strength perfecting it's craft and ultimately The User Experience™. |
